FAQs, Criminal Defense in Clearwater

What are sentencing enhancements?

Sentencing enhancements are convictions or arrests already on an individual’s record that allow the District Attorney to pursue a harsher penalty. They include prior criminal history, date of release from custody, the end date of an individual’s supervision period, the type of crime charged, the use of firearms, or the amount of drugs in possession.
